Blaze

You built this house to burn it up,
the flames will make it whole
We came to see you blaze again
around these shining coals

We played through shadow roads that brought us here,
A small group drawn in to the light
While the glass-winged flies dart ‘round our eyes
Like it's easy to take flight

Nighthawks wheeling in the sky, I still hear them in my mind above these streets
I hold the embers of these times, shed light on friends I’ve left behind, rekindling this heat…

When winds blow north, you'll dance away,
but for tonight the leaves are still
I can wish to feel this fire again
If I wait I know I will
If I wait I know I will

Nighthawks wheeling in the sky, I still hear them in my mind above these streets
I hold the embers of these times, shed light on friends I’ve left behind, rekindling this heat…

We sang our signals to the silent sky,
Smoke echoes with their sound
We're all satellites for the moment here
revolving on this solid ground.
And the fire is nothing but shooting stars
Drifting up, not streaming down.
